His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Defence of the UAE, has officially inaugurated DP World’s advanced Free Trade Warehousing Zone (FTWZ), the Nhava Sheva Business Park (NSBP), located in Mumbai, India.
This inauguration, part of Sheikh Hamdan’s official visit to India, represents a significant step in furthering the longstanding economic and cultural partnership between the UAE and India. As a prominent player in global trade, DP World remains focused on developing cutting-edge logistics infrastructure to enhance supply chain performance and drive India’s global trade ambitions.
Accompanied by Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, Group Chairman and CEO of DP World, Sheikh Hamdan toured the facility and received an overview of the FTWZ’s operations, including tailored services aimed at improving operational efficiency.
Highlighting the importance of the project, Sheikh Hamdan stated that such infrastructure strengthens trade links while advancing mutual goals for innovation, sustainability, and shared growth.
Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem added that the NSBP enhances DP World’s logistics network in India, complementing the UAE-India Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement by promoting efficiency and scale in trade operations.
DP World has invested over USD 200 million (AED735 million) in three FTWZs across India, providing modern infrastructure, regulatory ease, and integrated value-added services. The NSBP offers one million square feet of warehousing space with an additional million in development, including temperature-controlled facilities. It is part of DP World’s global FTWZ network and links seamlessly with Jebel Ali Free Zone (JAFZA), reinforcing trade corridors.
The launch also marked a DEI milestone, with 35 women from local communities on duty. Certified Platinum by IGBC, the park’s eco-friendly design complements its location near major ports and infrastructure, boosting multimodal connectivity.
Sheikh Hamdan also planted a sapling, symbolising the UAE’s commitment to sustainability and its deepening ties with India.
