Dubai’s public parking operator, Parkin, has introduced revised car parking tariffs in selected areas of the emirate. As the largest provider of paid public parking in Dubai, the company has launched two new fee structures—Tariff W and Tariff WP—to streamline usage and optimise space during peak periods.
These new charges apply to four key locations: Al Qusais First, Al Karama, Al Kifaf, and Madinat Dubai Al Melaheya. While overnight parking from 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM and all-day parking on Sundays and public holidays remain free, changes during active hours are now in effect.
New ‘W’ and ‘WP’ Tariffs Rolled Out
Tariff W introduces a flat fee of AED 4 ($1.09) per hour and is applicable throughout the day in its designated zones. On the other hand, Tariff WP represents a premium pricing model designed to manage congestion during high-demand periods.
Under Tariff WP, parking costs rise to AED 6 ($1.63) per hour during peak hours—from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM and again from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Outside of these peak times, the WP zones revert to the standard rate of AED 4 per hour.
This dual-rate system allows for better management of traffic flow and offers flexibility for drivers parking during non-peak periods.
Locations Affected by New Parking Fees
Motorists should note the specific areas where these changes apply:
- Al Qusais First
- Al Karama
- Al Kifaf
- Madinat Dubai Al Melaheya
The revised pricing system comes as part of Parkin’s broader effort to enhance the parking experience across the city and ensure fair availability in high-traffic zones.
In a statement released via its official X (formerly Twitter) account, Parkin confirmed the updates, saying:
“We introduced new parking tariffs W and WP applicable to Al Qusais First, Al Karama, Madinat Dubai Al Melaheya, and Al Kifaf.
Tariff W: AED 4/hour applicable all day.
Tariff WP: AED 4/hour during off-peak hours & AED 6/hour during peak hours.”
Public Parking Policy Maintains Free Access on Sundays
Despite the changes, drivers will still benefit from free parking overnight and on Sundays, a policy that remains unchanged to support residents and weekend visitors alike.
Parkin continues to evaluate its services as Dubai evolves, ensuring public infrastructure remains aligned with the emirate’s growing population and urban mobility needs.
