Emaar Malls Management (LLC) has launched a rent support scheme for food and beverage outlets with terraces overlooking the Lake and Fountain areas at Dubai Mall and Souk Al Bahar, following the closure of the Dubai Fountain.
The developer will waive the rent for these affected terrace spaces for a period of four months, from June to September 2025, to assist businesses in managing the expected decline in footfall.
Emaar’s Four-Month Rent Waiver
As part of this initiative, Emaar will install 400 metres of digital screens along the promenade to help maintain visitor numbers during the fountain’s closure.
The screens will showcase visual content to enliven the area.
“For years, Dubai Fountain and the surrounding lake have been a key factor in the popularity of these destinations. As we enter a new phase, this rent support highlights our commitment to long-term partnerships and assisting tenants in navigating this transition with resilience and confidence,” said Mohamed Alabbar, founder of Emaar.
The lakeside terraces at both Dubai Mall and Souk Al Bahar have traditionally drawn diners seeking views of Dubai Fountain’s water displays and the scenic waterfront.
Emaar Malls noted that despite the fountain’s closure, the terraces still offer impressive city views and a memorable dining experience.
The company reiterated its commitment to providing sustainable solutions for businesses within its retail communities.
