The UAE Federal Tax Authority (FTA) has reported substantial participation from taxpayers and stakeholders during the initial stage of its extensive awareness drive, aiming to introduce new tax regulations.
Earlier this year, the campaign launched with a central focus on corporate tax, aiming to provide continuous knowledge support to relevant taxpayers and ensure the smooth implementation of the tax.
In a statement, the FTA disclosed that the first phase included 48 workshops, both physical and virtual, attracting an impressive total of around 13,600 participants, according to Arabian Business.
These workshops were tailored for taxpayers across diverse business sectors and other stakeholders engaged in the tax implementation process.
Virtual Workshops Illuminate Corporate Tax
As part of the initiative, 39 virtual workshops were conducted, outlining corporate tax requirements and registration procedures in both Arabic and English. These virtual sessions were hosted on the educational platform launched this year on the FTA’s official website.
The initial phase also featured nine in-person workshops held across all seven emirates, concluding with a session titled ‘General Principles on Taxation of Corporations and Businesses’ in Dubai this month, organized by the FTA in collaboration with relevant government and private entities.
FTA Director-General Khalid Ali Al Bustani expressed contentment with the success of the first phase, noting significant interest and interaction from stakeholders. He underscored the Authority’s dedication to engaging stakeholders through innovative channels, supporting voluntary self-compliance with corporate tax regulations.
Al Bustani stated, “The Authority is committed to reaching out to all stakeholders involved in implementing the tax system through various channels,” emphasizing the campaign’s objective of furnishing essential information, minimizing the necessity for physical visits to the Authority’s headquarters, and ensuring continuous communication with business sectors.
“The Authority is committed to reaching out to all stakeholders involved in implementing the tax system through various channels,” he added.
The FTA plans to sustain its awareness efforts with the second phase of the corporate tax campaign scheduled for 2024.
