Dubai Future Foundation (DFF) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Artificial Intelligence Centre Hamburg (ARIC), marking Sandbox Dubai’s first international collaboration.
This partnership will bring leading AI innovators and businesses from Europe to Dubai, allowing them to trial their emerging technologies within the emirate’s regulatory sandbox. This aligns with Dubai’s strategy to position itself as a global AI hub.
As one of Europe’s premier AI centres, ARIC connects experts from industry, academia, and society to advance AI research and application. Under the agreement, DFF and ARIC will facilitate knowledge exchange and link deep-tech innovators and companies from the UAE and Germany.
DFF will offer access to Sandbox Dubai, a platform designed to support businesses in testing their products and services within a controlled regulatory environment, accelerating technological adoption.

AlJaziri stated that Sandbox Dubai aims to enhance Dubai’s regulatory and innovation framework by identifying emerging opportunities, driving innovation, and working with government and private sector stakeholders to develop future-ready regulations.
He further emphasised DFF’s commitment to introducing Sandbox Dubai globally, supporting entrepreneurs, and fostering international regulatory cooperation. “Our aim is to attract talent and innovative enterprises, encouraging them to develop and launch products in Dubai, reinforcing its status as a global business hub for pioneering technology.”
Krtil highlighted that the partnership will enable innovators, entrepreneurs, and policymakers from both nations to collaborate on AI implementation in sandbox environments. The initiative will involve networking, joint knowledge and technology transfer projects, and the exchange of best practices through shared learning programmes.
