Abu Dhabi-headquartered artificial intelligence and advanced technology group, G42, has announced the launch of G42 Europe & UK, a new subsidiary based in London.
This new entity will concentrate on delivering bespoke AI solutions to the private sector while collaborating with governments and industry stakeholders to build essential AI infrastructure throughout the UK and mainland Europe.
G42 Europe & UK will be jointly chaired by two prominent technology figures: Omar Mir, an international board member at World Wide Technology, and Marty Edelman, general counsel for the G42 group.
Mir brings over 20 years of experience in the global tech sector, having spearheaded advancements in 5G, edge computing, cloud services, and AI technologies across regions including the UK, Europe, the United States, and the Middle East.
Edelman is responsible for G42’s global legal and compliance strategy and has played a significant role in shaping the group’s governance structure as it ventures into new international markets.
Harnessing G42’s AI expertise
“Our aim is to adapt G42’s established AI capabilities to suit the needs of businesses in the UK and Europe — enabling digital transformation, boosting competitiveness, and developing robust, sovereign AI infrastructure in collaboration with both public and private partners,” said Omar Mir, co-chair of G42 Europe & UK.
Marty Edelman, who also serves as co-chair, commented, “The UK and Europe offer a vibrant environment with vast potential for AI-led innovation. With a dedicated hub in London, we are enhancing our capacity to serve clients by combining deep regulatory insight with cutting-edge technological solutions.”
The launch of this subsidiary follows G42’s growing footprint across Europe, marked by recent announcements regarding new data centres and computing clusters in France and Italy, along with rising interest from other nations in the region.
