BEEAH’s latest venture aligns with Sharjah’s economic diversification strategy and builds on the company’s notable achievement of maintaining a waste diversion rate of over 90 percent—one of the highest globally. Al Huraimel described this move as a natural progression for BEEAH, which has evolved from its roots in waste management to now encompass clean energy, technology, and healthcare. He emphasised that the company’s sustainability innovations are focused on “shaping tomorrow’s cities and elevating quality of life for all people.”
Although specific details of the project are still under wraps, Nada Taryam, CEO of Real Estate at BEEAH, revealed that the upcoming announcement will unveil “a first-of-its-kind project in the region.” The development is expected to integrate AI-powered building management systems capable of automatically regulating lighting, cooling, and energy usage based on occupancy and time of day—similar to the systems deployed at BEEAH’s LEED Platinum-certified headquarters, designed by Zaha Hadid Architects.
Al Huraimel underlined that the project aims to create “an entirely new niche” in the market rather than mirror existing developments. “The goal is not to reproduce existing models but to create an entirely new niche. It’s about setting benchmarks and raising expectations for sustainable living across the industry,” he explained.
The real estate project will incorporate technology and innovations drawn from across BEEAH’s operations. From managing a single landfill in Sharjah, the company has progressed to operating the region’s first Waste-to-Energy plant and delivering integrated waste management services in Saudi Arabia and Egypt.
“As a diversified group, we now represent an entire ecosystem of offerings for tomorrow’s sustainable, smart cities: Environment, Energy, Technology, Healthcare, and now Real Estate,” said Al Huraimel. He noted that moving into real estate further supports BEEAH’s mission to improve quality of life through people-focused, sustainable developments.
The project will also leverage the expertise of BEEAH’s subsidiaries. ION, the company’s green mobility platform, will expand electric vehicle charging networks, while re.life’s digital systems will enable on-demand logistics and waste recycling. EVOTEQ’s supply chain solutions will further support commercial activities within the development.
