Mohammed Mahfoodh Al Ardhi is an Omani businessman and former military chief, widely recognized for his leadership in banking, investments, and strategic sectors. He currently serves as Executive Chairman of Investcorp, a leading global alternative investment firm with over US$23 billion in assets under management, and is Chairman of Sohar International, a prominent financial institution in Oman.
Al Ardhi’s career began in the Royal Air Force of Oman, where he joined as a fighter pilot and became both the youngest and longest-serving native head of the Air Force. His military service instilled discipline and leadership skills that later defined his corporate career.
In the financial sector, he served as Vice Chairman and later Chairman of the National Bank of Oman (NBO), where he oversaw major strategic initiatives, including the bank’s expansion into Islamic banking and significant corporate social responsibility programs. Under his leadership, NBO played an instrumental role in youth empowerment and innovation.
