US equities closed higher on Friday, led by a strong gain in technology stocks, while most overseas markets ended lower.
The S&P 500 rose 61.82 points to 7,398.93. Additionally, the Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 12.19 points to 49,609.16, while the Nasdaq Composite climbed 440.88 points to 26,247.08.
However, equity markets across Europe and Asia recorded broad declines. Germany’s DAX fell 1.3%, while Hong Kong’s Hang Seng dropped 0.9%, marking two of the larger losses among major indexes.
