The upcoming week in the UAE is set to bring heavy rain and cooler temperatures, as outlined in the forecast by the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM). The NCM has released a national weather report covering the period from Wednesday, February 28, to Friday, March 1.
The country is poised to be influenced by a surface low-pressure system from the Southwest, coupled with an extension of an upper-air low-pressure system. Additionally, a western Jetstream with varying amounts of clouds flowing from the West at intervals will contribute to the weather conditions.
Anticipated weather on Wednesday and Thursday includes partial cloudiness to occasional cloud cover over scattered areas, with a likelihood of light to moderate rainfall in general. Heavy rain is expected at times, particularly in the northern, eastern, and southern regions. The Western areas of the UAE will experience fresh to strong North-westerly winds.
Starting from Thursday at noon, temperatures will drop, and cloud cover is expected to gradually decrease by Thursday night. On Friday in the UAE, clouds are predicted to form over some Eastern areas, potentially becoming convective with a chance of daytime rainfall. Wind conditions will shift from light South-easterly to gradually become North-westerly by Thursday at noon, ranging from moderate to fresh and becoming strong, especially over the sea. This may lead to the occurrence of blowing dust and sand.
Sea conditions are forecasted to be moderate initially, turning rough to very rough at times on Thursday in the Arabian Gulf. In the Oman Sea, conditions are expected to be slight to moderate initially, becoming rough by Thursday night.
