Abdallah Sultan Al Owais, Vice Chairman of the Federation of UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry and Chairman of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), expressed his pride in hosting the inaugural UAE-Morocco Business Council at the Chamber’s premises.
The meeting was attended by Ahmed Al Tazi, Ambassador of Morocco to the UAE, Chakib Alj, President of the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM), alongside delegates from the UAE Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Economy, and members of the Council from both nations.
Al Owais remarked that hosting the first session in Sharjah represents a significant development in the growing bilateral relationship between the UAE and Morocco, which continues to expand across diverse sectors.
He highlighted the tangible and promising prospects the Council presents for businesses and investment bodies, owing to the strong support from the Federation of UAE Chambers, CGEM, and relevant government and institutional entities from both sides.
He further noted that the UAE possesses established expertise and offers diverse investment opportunities, reinforcing the potential for deeper business collaboration between the two countries.
Al Owais affirmed that the Council’s sessions will pave the way for a new era of joint business ventures, particularly given the participation of prominent business leaders, investors, and key commercial entities from both nations.
Chakib Alj underscored that the Council’s establishment is a joint initiative by CGEM and the Federation of UAE Chambers, aimed at boosting bilateral ties. He pointed to key sectors—tourism, infrastructure, agri-food, renewable energy, finance, and advanced tech—as areas ripe for cooperation.
He also welcomed the growing number of Moroccan firms operating in the UAE and the notable increase in Emirati investment in Morocco, reflecting the vibrancy of economic relations.
