The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai has declared that the initial phase of the Al Shindagha Corridor Improvement Project is now 45 per cent complete.
Valued at AED 4.8B, the project aims to enhance traffic flow and safety across a 13km section of crucial roads in the emirate.
Stretching from Sheikh Rashid Road to the Falcon Intersection on Al Mina Street, the fourth phase entails the construction of three bridges spanning a total length of 3.1km.
According to Mattar Al Tayer, Director General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of the RTA, the initial contract for Phase 4 includes the development of a 1335-metre-long bridge, featuring three lanes in each direction, to facilitate smooth traffic flow between Sheikh Rashid and the Falcon Intersection.
A second bridge, spanning 780m, will handle traffic from the Falcon Intersection to Al Wasl Road, with a capacity of 5,400 vehicles per hour. The third bridge, extending 985m, will direct vehicles from Jumeirah Street to Al Mina Street, accommodating 3,200 vehicles per hour.
Additional tasks involve the construction of 4.8km of new roads, enhancements to intersections, and the installation of two pedestrian crossings alongside street lighting and drainage systems.
