Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA, stated that electricity connection requests for commercial projects rose by 4.51% in 2024 through the Al Namoos service.
This increase underscores DEWA’s commitment to meeting the rising demand for electricity and water services, driven by Dubai’s economic and urban expansion.
Al Namoos, meaning “race winner” in Emirati, enables electricity connections of up to 150 kilowatts within five days through a simplified two-step process for DEWA-accredited consultants and contractors.
In 2024, DEWA processed 8,241 electricity connection requests, with the number of accredited consultants and contractors reaching 2,123 by year-end.
“We are witnessing increased interest in DEWA’s smart services, reflecting Dubai’s competitive business environment. Our initiatives support industrial, commercial, and residential projects, driving efficiency and strengthening Dubai’s position as a global investment hub. Under the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33), we continue to enhance infrastructure, integrating advanced digital solutions to facilitate seamless transactions, improve stakeholder satisfaction, and foster long-term partnerships,” said Al Tayer.
Rashid Bin Humaidan, Executive Vice President of Distribution Power at DEWA, reiterated DEWA’s focus on smart, innovative services that accelerate electricity and water access in line with global standards.
Consultants and contractors can benefit from DEWA’s Soqoor Programme, Marafeq Smart Feature, and OWNEK awareness initiative, along with the Infrastructure NOC Technical Manual. Transactions can be completed anytime via DEWA’s website (www.dewa.gov.ae) and smart app, eliminating the need to visit Customer Happiness Centres.
