Autoworld International FZCO, the regional distributor for India’s Bajaj Auto Ltd, has unveiled plans to invest AED45 million in a new logistics and distribution hub in the Jebel Ali Free Zone (Jafza). The project aims to strengthen the company’s operations across fast-growing markets in Africa and the Middle East.
The 162,000 sq. ft facility will house an assembly plant for Bajaj motorcycles and three-wheelers, alongside dedicated space for the storage and distribution of spare parts, tyres, and lubricants. Scheduled for completion by 2026, the project also includes plans to introduce new product lines through global partnerships.
Jafza Expansion to Boost Regional Automotive Reach
The agreement was signed in the presence of top officials, including Abdullah Bin Damithan, CEO and Managing Director of DP World GCC; Abdulla Al Hashmi, Chief Operating Officer, Parks & Zones at DP World GCC; and Autoworld’s leadership team: Chairman Kumar Motiram Lakhani, Managing Director Monish Lakhani, and Director Vishal Lakhani.
Abdulla Al Hashmi commented, “Autoworld’s expansion underscores the strength of Jafza’s integrated trade and logistics ecosystem, which now connects 940 automotive companies from 88 countries. Last year alone, Jafza supported automotive trade valued at nearly AED102 billion.”
Creating Jobs and Supporting Industrial Growth
The project is expected to generate over 100 direct and indirect jobs, contributing to Dubai’s broader mobility and logistics sector. Once operational, the facility will enhance supply chain efficiency for Bajaj Auto’s regional distribution while serving as a platform for future growth.
The investment reflects Jafza’s continued role as a strategic hub for the automotive industry and underlines Dubai’s position as a gateway for global trade and industrial expansion.
