Oil prices surged on Monday, with global benchmarks posting gains of around 6% amid renewed strength in energy markets.
Brent crude futures rose $6.27, or 5.8%, to settle at $114.44 per barrel. Meanwhile, US West Texas Intermediate crude increased $4.48, or 4.4%, to close at $106.42 per barrel.
