Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), in collaboration with Etihad Rail, has inaugurated a new 1.8 km flyover on Al Yalayis Street. This significant project aims to improve traffic flow to and from Dubai Investment Park. The new three-lane, signal-controlled structure features right-turn slip roads for vehicles arriving from Dubai and those exiting towards Sheikh Zayed Road.
According to the Dubai Media Office, the construction of the flyover also supports the seamless operation of trains on the UAE’s national railway network. The trains will now travel safely within the median strip of Al Yalayis Street. As a result, both road and railway traffic can operate more efficiently without interference.
Ensuring Seamless Train and Vehicle Movement
RTA highlighted that the new flyover plays a crucial role in separating train and vehicle traffic. This strategic design ensures safer and smoother movement across both transport systems. Etihad Rail officials emphasized their commitment to working closely with authorities across the UAE to maintain world-class operational standards.
Moreover, the improved infrastructure supports broader national goals. By enhancing connectivity, it facilitates the efficient transport of goods and passengers. This move not only strengthens social bonds but also promotes economic growth across key areas of the country.
Future Extensions to Strengthen Connectivity
Looking ahead, RTA plans to extend the flyover towards Jumeirah Golf Estates. The upcoming phase will involve constructing a two-lane road in each direction. This expansion aims to boost network connectivity even further and ensure smoother traffic flow in surrounding areas.
By investing in these infrastructure projects, Dubai continues to advance its urban mobility strategy. The new flyover stands as a key milestone in efforts to create a safer, more efficient, and economically vibrant transportation network.
