Wizz Air Abu Dhabi has reported record-breaking results for 2024, achieving more than 20% growth in seat capacity and passenger numbers year-on-year. The joint venture between ADQ and Wizz Air Holdings PLC operated over 19,000 flights with a 99.8% completion rate, offering more than 4.4M ultra-low-cost seats and carrying over 3.5M passengers. This contributed 25% to Zayed International Airport’s point-to-point traffic.
In 2024, the airline welcomed over 1.2M international visitors to Abu Dhabi, reinforcing the Emirate’s status as a world-class destination and supporting its sustainable tourism growth. Wizz Air Abu Dhabi is a key player in the UAE’s Tourism Strategy 2031, further solidifying the country’s position as a global tourism hub. In line with Abu Dhabi’s Tourism Strategy 2030, which targets 39.3M visitors and AED 90B in GDP contribution by 2030, the airline’s role is crucial.
Wizz Air Abu Dhabi also introduced region-first flight subscription models, the Wizz MultiPass and All You Can Fly, which sold out within 48 hours, highlighting the airline’s commitment to affordability. The airline expanded its network, increasing capacity on popular routes by 40%, ensuring a more flexible, reliable, and affordable travel experience.
Johan Eidhagen, Managing Director, remarked on the airline’s growth and commitment to providing affordable travel options, with unique memberships like All You Can Fly offering unlimited trips throughout the year. Wizz Air currently connects Abu Dhabi to more than 30 destinations across the Middle East, Europe, Africa, and Asia. The airline is enhancing its winter schedule with increased seat capacity to support its expanding network.
