Wizz Air Abu Dhabi has reported record-breaking results for 2024, achieving more than 20% growth in seat capacity and passenger numbers year-on-year. The joint venture between ADQ and Wizz Air Holdings PLC operated over 19,000 flights with a 99.8% completion rate, offering more than 4.4M ultra-low-cost seats and carrying over 3.5M passengers. This contributed 25% to Zayed International Airport’s point-to-point traffic.

The Sharjah Airport Authority (SAA) reported that Sharjah International Airport handled 17,101,725 passengers in 2024, an 11.4% rise from 15,356,212 in 2023. Flights increased by 9.5% to 107,760, compared to 98,433 in the previous year.

Emirates SkyCargo has launched a weekly Boeing 777 freighter service to Copenhagen Airport, increasing its freighter network to 38 destinations. The new service addresses rising demand in Denmark and neighbouring regions, offering 85 tonnes of cargo capacity.
