The Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) has rolled out The Water Aid Initiative to alleviate the effects of the summer heat, both within the UAE and internationally.
The campaign focuses on supporting underprivileged families, labourers, and individuals performing strenuous tasks amid rising temperatures. Locally, the initiative provides these groups with umbrellas, water-cooling containers, and health packages. On a global scale, the effort includes drilling wells, supplying water tanks, and installing atmospheric water generators. The aim is to equip target groups with the necessary tools to shield them from the intense sun and high temperatures.
Throughout the summer, the UAE has launched several initiatives to offer relief to outdoor workers. These measures include health checkups, rest stations, free ice cream, and mandatory mid-day breaks.
The Water Aid Initiative aims to significantly enhance the availability of water sources in water-scarce countries, urging donors to support these critical projects.
In a statement, the ERC emphasized that the campaign is driven by the goal of preserving human life, health, and dignity while offering protection from natural elements. The organization has completed its preparations and taken necessary actions to meet the campaign’s objectives by attracting more partners, thus expanding the number of beneficiaries both locally and internationally.
