The UAE Federal Tax Authority (FTA) recently organized the InnoTAX 2025 AI Hackathon in Dubai. The event aimed to develop AI-driven solutions for challenges in the tax sector. By fostering collaboration, the hackathon provided participants with a chance to contribute to the future of digital taxation.
FTA: Leveraging AI, Big Data, and Cloud Computing
Held during UAE Innovation Month and the Year of Community, the hackathon encouraged the use of artificial intelligence, big data, and cloud computing. These technologies can improve tax services, compliance, and efficiency. The event also served as a platform for collaboration between public and private sector innovators.
Khalid Ali Al Bustani, Director General of the Federal Tax Authority, highlighted the hackathon’s impact.
“Through these innovative ideas, we aim to enhance the UAE’s tax system and drive technological advancement,” he said.

The hackathon attracted experts from various fields, including:

On the final day, the FTA received multiple project submissions. A panel of experts and Authority representatives evaluated the ideas based on innovation and feasibility. The top three solutions were recognized for their potential to transform tax operations and digital services.
Through AI and emerging technologies, the UAE continues to modernize its tax system, aligning with its vision for digital transformation and smart governance.
