The UAE’s General Authority of Islamic Affairs, Endowments and Zakat announced the official Eid Al Fitr prayer timings across all seven emirates, providing early morning schedules ahead of the holiday. Moreover, the guidance outlines staggered timings reflecting regional sunrise variations.
Prayer timings vary across emirates
According to the authority, Eid prayers will take place at different times across the country. Additionally, the schedules account for geographical differences in sunrise.
Prayers are set for 6:20am in Abu Dhabi and 6:18am in Dubai. Meanwhile, worshippers in Sharjah and Ajman will gather at 6:16am.
Furthermore, timings are scheduled for 6:12am in Umm Al Quwain and Ras Al Khaimah, while Fujairah will observe the earliest prayer at 6:10am. As a result, the staggered schedule aligns with local sunrise patterns across the emirates.
Mosque-only prayers to ensure safety
The authority confirmed that Eid prayers will be held exclusively inside approved mosques this year. Additionally, traditional open-air prayer grounds will not be used as part of broader safety and organisational measures.
Moreover, officials urged worshippers to arrive early and follow guidelines to manage expected high turnout. Therefore, authorities aim to ensure smooth congregation flow and minimise congestion at prayer locations.
Moon-sighting to confirm Eid date
The exact date of Eid al-Fitr remains subject to confirmation by the UAE’s moon-sighting committee. Furthermore, the committee is scheduled to convene after Maghreb prayers to determine the start of the holiday.
