The UAE banking sector has strengthened its operational readiness ahead of the Eid Al Adha holidays to ensure uninterrupted banking services for customers across the country.
The Central Bank of the UAE confirmed that the domestic funds transfer system will remain operational throughout the holiday period, enabling seamless money transfers in coordination with the UAE Banks Federation and related committees.
The regulator added that services such as direct debit and cheque clearing will return to normal operations once banks resume working hours after the holiday break.
Banks across the UAE have intensified preparations through digital banking platforms and customer support channels to maintain smooth operations during Eid. The initiative reflects the commitment of both the Central Bank and UAE Banks Federation to deliver reliable and secure banking experiences.
The preparations come alongside the official Eid Al Adha holiday schedule announced for public and private sector employees across the UAE.
To manage increased transaction volumes during the festive period, banks have enhanced technical readiness by ensuring uninterrupted access to mobile banking applications, online services, and ATM networks while strengthening customer support and call centre operations.
The Central Bank stated that coordination continues with local and international banks operating in the UAE to monitor the efficiency of payment systems and transfer networks during the busy holiday period.
Meanwhile, the UAE Banks Federation continues to support collaboration among financial institutions and promote business continuity practices, reinforcing the resilience of the country’s digital banking ecosystem.
Digital banking services in the UAE have advanced significantly in recent years, allowing customers to complete transactions through smart applications and electronic platforms while reducing dependence on physical branches during public holidays.
Banks have encouraged customers to use digital channels for transfers, bill payments, and other daily banking activities while assuring them that ATMs across residential and commercial areas remain sufficiently stocked with cash.
The collaboration between the Central Bank and the UAE Banks Federation highlights the UAE’s efforts to strengthen financial sector efficiency and reinforce its standing as a leading global financial hub.
Banking institutions also confirmed that mobile applications, self-service kiosks, and withdrawal and deposit machines will continue operating around the clock throughout the Eid Al Adha holiday without interruption.
Banks noted that additional cash reserves have been loaded into ATM networks to meet higher expected demand, while customer support teams will operate on rotational schedules to address urgent requests.
Statements issued by banks on social media highlighted that most essential banking services, particularly digital transactions, will remain accessible 24 hours a day during the holiday period.
Financial institutions also underlined the efficiency of their mobile banking platforms and ATM networks, supported by ongoing coordination with cash supply providers to maintain liquidity levels when needed.
Banks reassured customers that the sector is fully prepared to handle increased demand for digital banking services during Eid Al Adha through upgraded technical systems, enhanced operational support, and sufficient ATM cash availability across all emirates.
They added that services such as transfers, bill payments, and card transactions typically witness higher activity during holiday seasons as more customers rely on digital banking solutions for daily financial needs.
The UAE’s continued digital transformation in banking has significantly reduced reliance on traditional branches while ensuring uninterrupted access to essential financial services during extended public holidays.
Banks confirmed that all key customer services, including account management, local and international transfers, and bill payments, will continue operating efficiently through mobile applications and online banking platforms throughout the Eid holiday period.
