H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, has approved a comprehensive set of new plans and policies aimed at making Dubai one of the world’s most beautiful, liveable, and healthiest cities.
During a meeting of the Executive Council of Dubai held as part of the UAE Annual Government Meetings 2025, and aligned with the vision of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai, several major initiatives were endorsed. These include the Public Parks and Greenery Strategy, the Aviation Talent 33 initiative, the policy to Expand and Promote Affordable Schools, the Sports Sector Strategic Plan 2033, the creation of the Financial Restructuring and Insolvency Court, and the expansion of Early Detection Healthcare Services.
H.H. Sheikh Hamdan commended the UAE Annual Government Meetings for fostering stronger cooperation between federal and local authorities and for contributing to the shaping of the nation’s future.
While chairing the Executive Council meeting, Sheikh Hamdan said: “Under the guidance of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid’s vision, we are building a city that harmonises urban development with nature, enhances health and quality of life, celebrates excellence and efficiency, and equips future generations for success. Maintaining Dubai’s position as the best and most beautiful city is an ongoing effort supported by the Dubai Plan 2033 and its social and economic agendas, which aim to create happy, healthy individuals, families, and communities.”
He further noted: “Dubai is the best and most beautiful city in the world, and our goal is to ensure it remains the most advanced, attractive, and sustainable — setting a global benchmark for future cities that prioritise human wellbeing and urban resilience.”
Discussing the aviation sector, Sheikh Hamdan stated: “Dubai has one of the world’s largest aviation industries and continues to strengthen its position as a globally competitive hub for this vital sector.”
Addressing education, he said: “Developing human capital is a strategic priority for Dubai, and we aspire to position the city among the world’s top 10 in terms of education quality.”
On the sports industry, Sheikh Hamdan added: “Sport has evolved into a key industry and an attractive investment sector in Dubai. Our youth are inspired to represent the UAE on international platforms, and we are shaping opportunities for them through a strategic plan that supports the long-term development of the sports sector.”
He also highlighted Dubai’s standing as a global financial centre, supported by its flexible regulatory environment and strong legal infrastructure, which continue to enhance its leadership and economic resilience.
