The Emirate of Sharjah has now commenced the implementation of Law No. (7) of 2025 regarding the organisation of judicial authority, following its ratification by His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah.
This legislation marks a key development in strengthening the independence of the judiciary, promoting fair legal proceedings, and safeguarding the principles of justice throughout the Emirate.
The law guarantees universal access to justice and strictly prohibits any attempts to interfere with judicial matters.
The law guarantees the right to legal defence throughout all stages of investigation and trial, and recognises judges as fully independent, bound only by the Constitution.
This highlights that the dignity, integrity, and neutrality of judicial personnel are essential in defending individual rights and freedoms.
Leading judicial authorities in Sharjah have described the enactment of the Judicial Authority Law as a landmark moment in the evolution of the Emirate’s legal system.
Reflecting the vision of Sharjah’s Ruler, the law aims to build a unified and well-structured legal system grounded in justice, transparency, and institutional competence. It enhances judicial governance by defining organisational roles, streamlining procedures, and incorporating modern technologies in line with global best practices.
