Indian low-cost airline IndiGo has announced an expansion of its flight operations to the UAE, revealing plans to introduce a new daily direct flight from the northern Indian city of Chandigarh to Abu Dhabi.
IndiGo stated in a press release that the launch of this route aims to offer increased flight choices, seamless connectivity, and improved accessibility for both business travellers and tourists commuting between India and the UAE.
Vinay Malhotra, Head of Global Sales at IndiGo, commented, “With the inclusion of these flights, IndiGo will now operate 63 weekly flights to Abu Dhabi from 9 cities in India, promoting travel, trade, tourism, and nurturing the rich socio-cultural diversity between the two nations.”
Abu Dhabi, the capital of the UAE, is a popular destination among Indian tourists due to its remarkable islands, world-renowned theme parks, impressive architectural landmarks, cultural sites, and picturesque coastlines.
Notable attractions in the emirate include the Sheikh Zayed Mosque, Ferrari World, the Louvre Abu Dhabi, Yas Island, Emirates Park Zoo, and Al Ain Palace Museum, according to Arabian Business.
Chandigarh, serving as the capital of two Indian states – Haryana and Punjab, is celebrated for its architectural brilliance, urban planning, and modernization efforts.
