flydubai has joined forces with emaratech, a prominent technology firm based in the UAE, to roll out smart border control solutions tailored for its pilots and cabin crew.
The newly installed smart gates, situated at flydubai’s Airport Operations Centre, incorporate cutting-edge biometric systems, artificial intelligence-based verification, and real-time data integration to enhance the immigration process.
This initiative ensures a quicker and more streamlined immigration experience for the airline’s flight teams, reinforcing its focus on operational excellence, particularly during peak travel seasons.
Thani Alzaffin, Group CEO of emaratech, commented, “We are delighted to collaborate with flydubai to introduce a new generation of paperless immigration services for their crew. Our AI-driven facial recognition gates are fully integrated with both flydubai’s systems and immigration platforms, providing instantaneous authentication and a seamless passage.”
Mohammed Hareb AlMheiri, Chief Procurement and Technology Officer at flydubai, stated, “We continually explore innovative technologies that align with our growth strategy and enhance our operational performance. The deployment of these biometric smart gates represents another stride towards achieving smoother, more timely and secure operations.”
