Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) announced that over the Eid Al Adha holiday, from 15 to 18 June 2024, the total number of passengers using public transport, shared transport, and taxis surpassed 6.7 million.
This marks an increase compared to around 6.4 million passengers during the same period previously.
The RTA offered a wide range of transport options during the holiday period.

The Metro was the most popular mode of transport, outpacing taxis.
Metro passengers: 2.5 million
Taxi passengers: 2 million
Public bus passengers: 1.4 million
Shared transport vehicle passengers: 350,000
Marine transport passengers: 280,000
Tram passengers: 101,000
This significant uptick in public transport usage highlights Dubai’s growing reliance on its extensive and efficient transit network during major holidays.
