Following the recent torrential rains in the UAE, the CEO of Dubai Airports, Paul Griffiths, has penned an open letter to passengers. Griffiths highlighted the efforts of the teams at Dubai Airports and reassured travellers that all partners were collaborating to ensure the “wellbeing of guests and the restoration of operations.”
His full statement reads:
“We are currently dealing with the aftermath of another unprecedented event – this time, it is the highest recorded rainfall in the UAE that has significantly disrupted our operations, inconveniencing both our guests and our colleagues. Our primary focus is on the welfare of our guests and returning operations at Dubai International Airport (DXB) to their regular schedule so that passengers can swiftly reach their destinations.
We are facing unfamiliar challenges, but please be assured that the entire airport community – including my team at Dubai Airports, airline partners, commercial partners, and service partners – is exerting tireless and relentless efforts to address them. Together, we are tackling this situation with resilience and determination.
We greatly appreciate the patience and cooperation of our guests during this testing period, and I offer my sincere apologies for any frustration and inconvenience experienced. Thank you for your understanding.”
