In a significant commitment to sustainability, Majid Al Futtaim Retail and 16 key partners join forces to pledge shared impact goals at COP28.
Expressing a lifelong commitment to advancing sustainability and transforming modern retail for the benefit of the environment and communities, the spokesperson conveyed gratitude to Mariam Almheiri for acknowledging and entrusting Carrefour’s proactive endeavours in reaching sustainability goals.
Highlighting a consistent dedication to seeking innovative solutions for reducing carbon footprint across timeframes, the spokesperson emphasized the role of awareness, education, and action in empowering suppliers, employees, partners, and customers to create enduring positive changes.
This commitment comes in the wake of the successful initiation of the Supplier Sustainability Forum earlier this year, a dedication involving FMCG partners in collaboration with the UAE’s Ministry of Climate Change and Environment (MOCCAE) and the Dubai Chamber of Commerce. The ambitious initiatives position Carrefour as a proactive industry leader addressing global challenges with transparency and credibility.
Following the commitment, the Supplier Sustainability Forum plans to form working groups in 2024 to identify priority projects for each of the Collaborative Impact Goals (CIGs), according to WAM.
