On 1st June 2025, His Highness Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman and Chairman of the Executive Council, attended the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at developing Ajman Port. The agreement, valued at AED 1 billion, seeks to attract new shipping lines, align with digital transformation initiatives, and launch a logistics platform to enhance the port’s competitiveness.
Representatives from the Department of Port and Customs, the Department of Economic Development, and the Ajman Free Zone Authority signed the MoU.
The development plan includes modernising port facilities, integrating advanced technologies, and streamlining operations to facilitate trade and logistics services. By enhancing the port’s capabilities, Ajman aims to position itself as a pivotal hub in the region’s maritime sector.
His Highness Sheikh Ammar emphasised the strategic importance of the port’s development in supporting the emirate’s economic diversification and attracting foreign investment. He highlighted the role of public-private partnerships in achieving sustainable growth and enhancing service quality.
The initiative aligns with Ajman’s broader vision to foster a conducive environment for business and innovation, leveraging its strategic location and infrastructure to drive economic prosperity.
