The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and the Emirates Association of Accountants & Auditors (EAAA) have reinforced their partnership with a unified goal of advancing the finance and accounting fields in the UAE. This renewed collaboration was formalized at the Finance, Excellence & Leadership Summit (FELS) 2024 in Dubai.
The partnership will spearhead initiatives aimed at the growth of finance professionals, improvement of industry standards, and promotion of best practices throughout the region. The agreement was signed by Lucia Real Martin GAICD, Executive Director of ACCA, and Ahmad Darwish FCCA, Vice Chairman of EAAA and Chairman of the Executive Committee.
Fazeela Gopalani, Head of Eurasia and the Middle East at ACCA, expressed enthusiasm about the renewed partnership: “We are thrilled to have renewed our partnership with EAAA and are very much looking forward to working together on initiatives that support the development of the finance profession in the UAE.”
The ACCA Qualification, along with the Foundation in Accountancy qualifications in the UAE, are integral parts of the Joint Examination Scheme (JES) Partnership. The ACCA Qualification includes 13 exams across three levels: Applied Knowledge, Applied Skills, and Strategic Professional, while the Foundation in Accountancy offers entry-level certificates and diplomas.
Members of both ACCA and EAAA who earn the ACCA Qualification through the JES will be eligible for EAAA membership and the UAE Chartered Accountant (CA) designation. The two associations will collaborate on continuous professional development (CPD) activities, webinars, and events to support their members.
Ahmad Darwish, FCCA, Vice Chairman of EAAA and Chairman of the Executive Committee, commented: “This strategic collaboration aims to enhance and build on the fantastic UAE Fellowship Program developed for the UAE Ministry of Economy. We are delighted to renew our partnership with ACCA to further enhance and develop our existing collaborative projects.”
