The Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) Courts have announced the launch of two major services: a Mediation Service Centre and a Notary Service.
These additions are underpinned by Dubai Law No. 2 of 2025, issued in March by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. The legislation provides the legal basis for expanding the courts’ service framework.
Sheikh Maktoum Bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, in his role as President of the DIFC, subsequently issued a resolution establishing the Mediation Service Centre and the Notary Service under the DIFC Courts.
DIFC Courts broaden services with mediation centre and blockchain-backed notary system
The Mediation Service Centre, operating from the DIFC Courts, offers an alternative path for resolving disputes. Parties will be able to work with mediators registered with the DIFC Courts, choosing their preferred mediator, as well as agreeing fees and terms in advance.
The service is designed for flexibility, with mediation sessions available either in person at the DIFC Courts or remotely via the upgraded, AI-enabled Court Management System (CMS).
