Kuwait has formally introduced a new electronic visa (e-visa) platform, intended to streamline and expedite entry procedures for tourists, residents, and official guests as part of its wider strategy to advance digitalisation and boost tourism.
Overseen by the Ministry of Interior, the newly launched system accommodates four visa types — tourist, family, business, and official — and is designed to shorten processing times and minimise bureaucratic delays.
The tourist visa permits a stay of up to 90 days and is aimed at individuals seeking to experience Kuwait’s cultural heritage and recreational attractions.
The family visa, which is valid for 30 days, allows Kuwaiti residents to host relatives for brief visits, thereby supporting family connectivity.
The business visa, also valid for 30 days, caters to foreign professionals, entrepreneurs, and business delegates arriving for corporate meetings, events, or commercial engagements.
The official visa is reserved for diplomats and government officials undertaking formal visits, such as attending international summits or participating in bilateral discussions, upon invitation from Kuwaiti authorities.
