Paying for parking in Dubai is set to become easier and more seamless as Salik, the city’s exclusive tollgate operator, expands its automated parking system. In collaboration with Parkonic, the UAE’s largest private parking operator, Salik will soon enable ticket-free and automatic parking payments via its eWallet system at 18 new locations across the city.
The initiative, which began with 107 core locations across the UAE, is expected to go live in the newly added areas next week. This marks a significant step in the UAE’s broader smart city goals, enhancing convenience for both residents and visitors.
Salik-Parkonic Partnership Enhances Smart Parking Solutions
The collaboration brings AI-driven parking systems powered by Parkonic into alignment with Salik’s eWallet infrastructure, allowing motorists to “drive in, park, and go” with zero barriers, no tickets, and no queues. The parking fee is automatically deducted from the driver’s Salik account, ensuring a frictionless experience.
Ibrahim Sultan Al Haddad, CEO of Salik, emphasized that the partnership would streamline parking across the UAE, enhancing overall efficiency and user experience while supporting the country’s smart infrastructure vision.
Parkonic’s innovative technology is already deployed in several key areas such as Global Village, Central Park, and The Beach – JBR in Dubai, as well as in Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, and Fujairah, including popular sites like Al Suhub Rest House, Majaz Park P1, and Umbrella Beach.
