Collaborating with the Ministry of Defense and security agencies, the UAE government entity Tawazun Council reported that local and international firms executed 11 contracts amounting to AED 6.9 billion on the second day of the Dubai Airshow 2023.
During a press briefing at the Dubai Airshow, Zayed Saeed Al Meraikhi and Majed Ahmed Al Jaberi, official spokespersons for the Tawazun Council, revealed that they secured a total of 20 deals valued at AED 11.6 billion in the initial two days of the event.
Tawazun Council Inks AED 4.9B in Defense Contracts
On November 14, Tawazun Council, acting on behalf of the Ministry of Defense, signed eight contracts with local companies, totalling AED 4.9B. Black Diamond secured the largest contract, valued at AED 3.3 billion, for the procurement of an air defense system.
Advanced Integrated Systems secured the second-largest local contract, worth AED 738 million, for aircraft maintenance services. Additional contracts with local companies covered UAV systems, aircraft braking systems, technical support, and ammunition purchases, totaling Dhs1.665bn.
At the Dubai Airshow, three international contracts were signed. These include a Dhs1.4 billion deal with the US company Raytheon for ammunition, an AED 210 million contract with Italy-based Leonardo for aircraft maintenance services, and an AED 438 million contract with the Chinese company CATIC for ammunition procurement.
