Etihad Rail has launched a nationwide rail safety campaign as part of its preparations for the rollout of passenger services across the UAE.
The initiative is designed to promote awareness around safe conduct near railway infrastructure through a multi-platform strategy that includes broadcast, digital, and community outreach campaigns across all emirates.
The campaign is expected to play an important role in helping communities, motorists, and future passengers understand how to engage safely within the railway environment.
Central to the initiative is the message that safety reflects care. Rooted in a value widely recognised across the UAE, the campaign positions responsibility as a collective effort shared by individuals, communities, and the broader system. Through clear and people-focused messaging, it seeks to strengthen awareness, encourage positive action, and gradually foster a culture where safe behaviour becomes second nature.
Passenger rail services are scheduled to commence in 2026 through a phased rollout, with initial operations focused on maintaining the highest safety standards from the outset.
Founded in 2009, Etihad Rail oversees the development and operation of the UAE’s National Rail Network. Extending nearly 900km, the network links major cities, ports, and industrial centres from Ghuwaifat to Fujairah along the country’s eastern coastline.
