Dubai Airports confirmed that a limited resumption of operations will begin on Monday evening, March 2, 2026, as aviation activity gradually restarts amid current developments in the Middle East.
A small number of flights will operate from Dubai International Airport (DXB) and Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC). However, capacity will remain significantly constrained during the initial phase of reopening.
Controlled Restart of Operations
According to the Government of Dubai Media Office, passengers have been instructed not to travel to the airports unless directly contacted by their airline with a confirmed departure time. Consequently, airport access will be tightly managed to avoid congestion and operational strain.
Emirates confirmed that it will begin operating a limited number of flights from Monday evening. “We are accommodating customers with earlier bookings as a priority, and those who have been rebooked to travel on these limited flights will be contacted directly by Emirates,” the carrier said.
The airline clarified that all other flights remain suspended until further notice.
Aviation and Economic Impact
The phased resumption signals a cautious stabilisation in the aviation sector, which experienced significant disruption in recent days. Therefore, passenger throughput and cargo volumes are expected to recover gradually rather than immediately.
Air transport remains a critical pillar of the UAE’s trade, tourism, and logistics ecosystem. As a result, the controlled reopening of DXB and DWC will be closely watched by airlines, freight operators, and investors assessing the pace of operational normalisation amid current market tensions.
