The United Arab Emirates will host the AI Impact Summit in 2028, reinforcing its commitment to advancing global dialogue on technology leadership. The decision follows the country’s participation in the 2026 edition held in New Delhi, India, where it underscored its growing influence in the international AI landscape.
The announcement was delivered in New Delhi by Guy Parmelin, President of the Swiss Confederation, who confirmed that Switzerland will stage the 2027 edition. He also signalled Switzerland’s intention to work closely with the UAE in the lead-up to its hosting year.
His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, welcomed Switzerland’s interest in deeper collaboration during discussions with Parmelin on the sidelines of the summit. The engagement reflected the strength of bilateral ties and a shared ambition to advance the global AI ecosystem ahead of the UAE’s 2028 edition.
Talks further emphasised the importance of enhanced international cooperation to develop robust AI governance frameworks. Participants stressed the need for a balanced strategy that fosters innovation while delivering tangible improvements to communities worldwide.
