The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) will host the 26th Water, Energy, Technology, and Environment Exhibition (WETEX) from the 1st to the 3rd of October 2024 at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA, Founder, and Chairman of WETEX, highlighted WETEX’s significance as one of the world’s largest specialised exhibitions. He emphasised its role in supporting the UAE and Dubai’s endeavours to mobilise international efforts towards accelerating the energy transition and achieving net-zero goals, particularly in the UAE’s Year of Sustainability.
Al Tayer noted that WETEX serves as a global platform for discovering the latest technologies, solutions, and innovations worldwide to address present and future challenges, ensuring a more sustainable future. He credited the ongoing support of the wise leadership for making the exhibition a crucial component in advancing the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050 and the Dubai Net Zero Carbon Emissions Strategy 2050, aiming to achieve 100% of Dubai’s total power production capacity from clean energy sources by 2050.
WETEX continues to garner increased backing from stakeholders, sponsors, and partners who view it as an ideal annual opportunity for exchanging expertise, concluding deals, forging partnerships, and exploring investment prospects in local and regional markets.
The 25th edition of WETEX in 2023 saw participation from approximately 2,600 companies representing 62 countries worldwide and 76 sponsors from local and international entities. It featured 24 international pavilions from 16 countries, covering an area of 78,000 square metres, according to WAM.
