Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is introducing a new Variable Road Toll Pricing (Salik) system and updated parking tariffs, aiming to manage traffic congestion more efficiently. These changes, set to roll out in 2025, will adjust rates based on peak hours and special events, offering flexibility for motorists while addressing urban traffic demands.
Toll Updates Begin in January 2025
Starting late January, Salik toll gates will feature peak and off-peak pricing. Motorists will be charged Dh6 during weekday peak hours (6am-10am and 4pm-8pm), Dh4 during off-peak hours, and enjoy toll-free access between 1am and 6am. On Sundays, the toll will be Dh4 throughout the day, with no charges from 1am to 6am.
Revised Parking Fees Effective March 2025
From March, parking fees will align with demand. Premium spots will cost Dh6 per hour and standard parking Dh4 during peak times (8am-10am and 4pm-8pm). Off-peak parking rates remain unchanged, and night parking (10pm-8am) will be free. Parking on Sundays will also remain free unless tied to major events.
Event-Specific Congestion Pricing
A Dh25 per hour fee will apply to parking near event zones, starting with the Dubai World Trade Centre in February 2025. This Congestion Pricing Policy targets major events, encouraging the use of public transport or alternative options during high-traffic periods.
These changes represent Dubai’s commitment to innovative, data-driven traffic solutions while enhancing convenience for residents and visitors.
