Careem Pay, the fintech arm of the Careem Everything App, has expanded its international remittance service, introducing 18 new European corridors to improve cross-border money transfers for UAE residents.
Customers can now send near-instant transfers to bank accounts in Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Cyprus, Estonia, Finland, Greece, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, the Netherlands, Portugal, San Marino, Slovakia, and Slovenia. These destinations add to existing corridors such as Germany, France, Ireland, Spain, and Italy.
Careem Pay had previously launched remittance services for major corridors, including India, Pakistan, the UK, and the Philippines. This latest expansion further strengthens its presence across the EU.
Mohammad El Saadi, Vice President of Careem Pay, stated: “Sending money abroad is often costly, slow, and complicated. Many expats still rely on physical exchange houses or banks, while others seek digital solutions with lower fees and faster transfers. By expanding to more European countries, we are enabling customers to support their families, pay mortgages, and manage personal expenses seamlessly via their phones.”
Careem Pay allows transfers of up to AED 150,000 per transaction and AED 450,000 monthly. The service ensures speed and reliability, with 80% of EU-bound transactions processed in under 30 minutes via SEPA transfers.
With exchange rates 50% lower than traditional banks, Careem Pay also offers Careem Plus members exclusive rates and zero-fee transfers, making international payments more affordable.
This expansion aligns with Careem Pay’s goal of simplifying financial services through a seamless payments platform, offering money transfers, bill payments, and digital wallet solutions. Customers can access the service via the Careem app’s ‘Send Money’ feature.
