The Central Bank of the United Arab Emirates (CBUAE) has issued silver commemorative coins to mark Emirati Children’s Day, observed annually on 15 March.
The commemorative coin highlights the importance of children’s identity and cultural heritage, aligning with national initiatives that support community awareness and social development.
Design Reflects Identity and Cultural Heritage
The obverse side of the silver coin features the nominal value of “15 dirhams”, symbolically referencing the date of the occasion. Surrounding the value is the inscription “Central Bank of the UAE” in both Arabic and English.
The reverse side showcases the official theme “The Right to Identity and National Culture.” The design includes an artistic illustration of a fort, reflecting Emirati history and emphasising the connection between children and their national heritage.
According to the central bank, the design highlights the importance of cultural identity while reinforcing awareness of heritage and national values among younger generations.
Limited Issue and Availability
A total of 2,000 silver coins have been issued, each weighing 28 grams. The commemorative coin will be available for purchase, with the central bank expected to announce the release date and purchase mechanism through its official channels at a later stage.
The initiative reflects ongoing efforts to promote awareness of national culture and heritage while commemorating an annual occasion dedicated to children across the United Arab Emirates.
