Heavy vehicle drivers in Ras Al Khaimah can now conveniently request driving evaluations through the Ministry of Interior (MOI) app.
Ras Al Khaimah Police announced via social media that the smart testing system available through the app simplifies the process for heavy vehicle drivers. By ordering the service through the MOI app, an inspector will be dispatched directly to the driver’s location to conduct the test. The system evaluates the driver’s performance, and the results are integrated into the internal systems. The app will notify the driver if they pass or fail the evaluation, and in case of failure, it will provide feedback on which areas need improvement.
This initiative is designed to enhance the driving skills of heavy vehicle operators and boost operational efficiency.
Launched to continuously improve the quality of inspection processes, this system reflects the Ras Al Khaimah Police’s commitment to leveraging advanced technology and smart applications to develop police and traffic operations.
In related news, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai announced on July 9 the launch of a pilot operation using Artificial Intelligence (AI) to detect damage on Dubai’s roads. Since last year, Dubai authorities have employed AI to monitor and track the performance of thousands of public utility vehicles and their drivers.
The Dubai Taxi Corporation (DTC), a branch of the RTA, reports that the smart system now covers 7,200 vehicles—including taxis, limousines, school buses, commercial buses, and delivery bikes—and 14,500 drivers.
