UAE Golden Visa holders will now receive expanded global support and emergency assistance following the launch of a dedicated suite of consular services described as the first of its kind worldwide. It marks a major expansion of privileges for the UAE’s long-term residents and their families.
The new services offer direct global assistance to Golden Visa holders and their accompanying family members, providing immediate passport replacement through an electronic Return Document in the event of loss or damage while abroad. They also include a dedicated hotline for direct communication with UAE officials and 24/7 emergency and crisis response via the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Call Centre at 0097124931133, ensuring round-the-clock support anywhere in the world.
Officials said the initiative reinforces the UAE’s commitment to care for residents beyond its borders — from emergency response and travel support to the repatriation of mortal remains in coordination with relevant authorities, helping families during times of loss.
Comprehensive Protection for Long-Term Residents
Announced at the 45th edition of GITEX Global 2025, the initiative is a joint collaboration between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) and the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Port Security (ICP). In line with the UAE’s humanitarian values, these emergency and crisis services—previously limited to UAE nationals—are now extended to Golden Visa holders.
The expansion ensures comprehensive protection, immediate support, and seamless coordination during international travel, medical emergencies, or crises abroad. The launch supports the directive of President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who declared 2025 as the “Year of Community” under the theme “Hand in Hand.”
The initiative reflects the UAE Government’s focus on integrated, citizen- and resident-centered services designed to foster a sense of belonging, security, and well-being. Omar Obaid Alhesan Alshamsi, Undersecretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said the new consular package aligns with the leadership’s vision to make the UAE one of the world’s most attractive destinations for global talent.
He noted that the MoFA–ICP partnership establishes a unified ecosystem of services that simplifies procedures and enhances support for Golden Visa holders, both within and beyond the UAE. Major General Suhail Saeed Al Khaili, Director General of the ICP, described the new services as a qualitative leap in government integration, reflecting the UAE’s values of humanity, generosity, and excellence.
He said the Authority is working with MoFA to develop smart, innovative, and secure digital solutions that respond to residents’ needs and provide a sustainable support system.
Reinforcing the UAE’s Global Leadership
The UAE stated that the initiative underscores its position as a global leader in integrated, human-centered government services. By extending consular protection to long-term residents, the UAE continues to set an international benchmark for inclusion, innovation, and community care.
