The UAE’s National Cybersecurity Strategy is set to be officially introduced this week, as confirmed by Dr. Mohamed Al Kuwaiti, Head of the Cyber Security Council (CSC).
This initiative aligns with the UAE’s commitment to adapting to rapid advancements across various industries, particularly in advanced technology, further solidifying its leadership in artificial intelligence and the digital economy.
During the opening day of the World Government Summit (WGS) 2025 in Dubai, Dr. Al Kuwaiti stated that the newly approved five-year National Cybersecurity Strategy, sanctioned by the UAE Cabinet, is structured around five key pillars.

These pillars aim to facilitate the secure and swift integration of innovations while maintaining a resilient and robust digital ecosystem.
Dr. Al Kuwaiti emphasised that the strategy incorporates specific objectives and initiatives to strengthen the national economy while ensuring the protection of critical infrastructure.
He highlighted that global losses from cyberattacks, cyber warfare, and cyberterrorism were estimated at approximately $10tn in 2024. This underscores the UAE’s proactive approach in reinforcing its cybersecurity framework in alignment with international standards.
To support this, the UAE has invested over $2bn in cybersecurity and digital transformation.
Additionally, Dr. Al Kuwaiti disclosed that the Cybersecurity Council is finalising multiple policies, including a cryptography policy, set for implementation in the first quarter of 2025.
The council is also developing new cybersecurity standards to enhance institutional compliance and security measures.
