UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan met with former US President George W. Bush in Dallas, reflecting on the long-standing partnership between the UAE and the US. The leaders revisited Bush’s historic 2008 visit to the UAE, which was pivotal in further strengthening the bilateral relationship built on shared values, peace, and stability.
Sheikh Mohamed expressed his gratitude for Bush’s leadership during his presidency, acknowledging his efforts in enhancing ties between the two nations. His Highness also highlighted the significant contributions of the former president’s late father, President George H. W. Bush, in fostering the UAE-US alliance during challenging times in the region. He referred to the senior Bush as “a friend of the UAE and an ally to the region.”
During the meeting, the UAE President emphasized the central role that the commitment to security, peace, and stability has played in UAE-US relations over the past decades.
He expressed optimism for the continued collaboration between the two countries, stressing that these shared values remain a guiding principle in their partnership.
Former President George W. Bush reciprocated the sentiment, expressing his pleasure at meeting Sheikh Mohamed again and reflecting on key milestones in their bilateral relationship. He expressed appreciation for the UAE’s ongoing commitment to fostering strong diplomatic ties with the United States.
The meeting was attended by key figures, including Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of the Executive Affairs Authority, and Ambassador to the US, Yousef Al Otaiba, further underlining the importance of this high-level dialogue.
