The UAE’s National Day celebrations will officially be known as Eid Al Etihad, emphasizing the theme of Etihad (union) and commemorating the unification of the Emirates on December 2, 1971. This year marks the 53rd celebration, reflecting the UAE’s heritage, unity, strength, and national pride.
The annual grand celebrations, attended by the Rulers of the Emirates, will take place at undisclosed locations, with numerous events and activations planned across all seven emirates in dedicated Eid Al Etihad zones.
The holiday offers a four-day weekend, with December 2 and 3 falling on Monday and Tuesday, respectively, combined with the Saturday-Sunday weekend.
Eisa Alsubousi, Director of Strategic and Creative Affairs for the 53rd Eid Al Etihad celebration, emphasized the importance of the event: “We are delighted to invite everyone to share in the joy of this historic moment.” He highlighted sustainability as a key focus, encouraging the public to minimize waste, recycle, and reuse existing decorations, supported by guides to ensure celebrations are conscious and impactful.
