Trade between the UAE and Kuwait reached USD 13.5B in 2024, according to Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of State for Foreign Trade, reflecting a 9 per cent increase from the previous year.
The surge in trade is part of a series of “positive developments” strengthening bilateral ties, the minister stated during the joint UAE-Kuwait Week. He described the event as a “platform” for exchanging views on advancing economic cooperation, ensuring sustained growth in alignment with both nations’ development strategies.
The initiative also enables Abu Dhabi and Kuwait to explore strategies to enhance bilateral cooperation. Dubai Chamber of Commerce President Mohammad Lootah highlighted the “dynamics” of their economic relations, noting that non-oil trade reached $7.5bn in the first nine months of the previous year, marking a 14 per cent increase year-on-year.
He also emphasised the role of the Dubai-based Kuwaiti Business Council, which includes 776 registered Kuwaiti firms, in supporting Kuwait-based businesses within the UAE’s expanding market.
