Tata Motors, the Indian automotive giant, has introduced Dark Edition variants for its popular compact SUVs Nexon and Nexon EV.
The special edition models showcase various cosmetic enhancements, creating a stylish blacked-out aesthetic. The Nexon Dark Edition is priced starting from Rs. 11.45 lakh, while the Nexon EV Dark Edition starts at Rs. 19.49 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom).
In terms of aesthetics, the Nexon and Nexon EV Dark Editions embrace a sleek all-black colour scheme, featuring black alloy wheels, darkened roof rails, and a subtle Tata logo. Internally, the theme continues with black leatherette seats, a black dashboard, and a darkened centre console.
There are no alterations in powertrain options. The Tata Nexon is provided with a 1.2-litre turbo petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. The petrol powertrain produces 87bhp power and 170Nm of torque, while the diesel engine generates 84.5bhp power and 260Nm of torque. The petrol engine is coupled with a 6-speed manual, AMT, or DCT gearbox, and the diesel engine is paired with either a 6-speed MT or AMT.
The Tata Nexon EV Dark Edition will exclusively come in the Long-Range variant. This version features a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor that delivers 143 bhp and 215Nm of torque. Empowered by a 40.5kWh battery, the car boasts an impressive range of 465 kms, according to The Free Press Journal.
