H.H. Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, has announced the allocation of AED 36 million to sports clubs across the emirate in recognition of their outstanding sporting achievements during the 2023-2024 season. The grant is designed to reward teams for their contributions and motivate athletes to continue excelling on both local and international stages.
This directive comes as a token of appreciation from the Sharjah Ruler, who acknowledged the pivotal role these clubs play in raising the profile of sports in the region. The AED 36 million grant, the largest in the history of Sharjah’s clubs, will be disbursed immediately to support preparations for the upcoming sports season, enabling clubs to enhance their games and better prepare athletes for future competitions.
The financial reward is aimed at sustaining the momentum gained by these teams, encouraging them to secure even more titles and accomplishments at both local and continental levels.
The grant covers 19 clubs that demonstrated excellence last season. This includes 10 multi-sport clubs: Sharjah, Kalba, Kalba Football Company, Al Batayeh, Khorfakkan, Al Hamriyah, Dibba Al Hisn, Al Dhaid, Al Madam, and Mleiha. In addition, 8 specialized clubs will also benefit from the funds, such as Sharjah Equestrian and Racing Club, Sharjah Self-Defence Sports Club, Sharjah International Marine Sports Club, Sharjah Cultural and Chess Club, Chess and Cultural Club for Sharjah Women, Al Thiqah for the Disabled, Khorfakkan Club for the Disabled, Sharjah Falconers Club, and Sharjah Women’s Sports Club.
By supporting these institutions, Sheikh Sultan aims to further enhance Sharjah’s presence in the world of sports and ensure the emirate continues its tradition of sporting excellence.
